Rome (NEV) May 31, 2017 – Pastor Luca Maria Negro, president of the Federation of Protestant Churches in Italy (FCEI), expressed his congratulations to the newly appointed president of the Italian Bishops’ Conference (CEI), Cardinal Gualtiero Bassetti.
“As a Federation Protestant Churches in Italy”, said Negro, “we welcome the appointment of Cardinal Gualtiero Bassetti, of whom we know the great social sensitivity and the ecumenical openness. We would also like to express the wish that, under his guidance, the relations between the Catholic Church and the other Christian denominations in Italy may develop, in order to soon establish a national ecumenical body”.
