Rome (NEV), October 26, 2018 – After the earthquake of August 24, 2016 the Federation of Protestant Churches (FCEI) launched an appeal to churches, international ecumenical agencies, single donors close to the Italian protestants, and received a great support. “Now the collection is closed – said FCEI’s president, pastor Luca Maria Negro – but our engagement continues hoping that these seeds of love may grow and  bear fruit”. During the past three years € 269.293,21 have been collected for rebuilding projects. The Federation acted through a working group formed by the president Luca Maria Negro, Giorgio Bleynat and Roberto Mellone with the support, for the Tolentino-Macerata area – of the Baptist pastor Luis Giuliani and of Alejandra Arrieta.

The projects were carried out in eight municipalities of the area affected by the earthquake and concerned different fields (schools, play and social grounds, flat furnishings). They were all completed in cooperation with the municipalities and the local associations of the provinces of Rieti, Ascoli Piceno and Macerata.
