Week of prayer for Christian Unity 2019

Rome (NEV), January 18, 2019 – The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (SPUC), promoted jointly by the Churches Ecumenical Council (CEC) and by the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of Christians Unity (PCPUC) will take place from January 18 to 25. The theme chosen for this year by the Indonesian churches, is from Deuteronomy 16:18-20: “Trying to be truly just”.

The materials in Italian, with a theological and pastoral introduction and with suggestions for the SPUC organization, was prepared by the publishing house Paoline Editoriale Libri, and by the Pro Unione Centre.

As usual, the presentation of the SPUC materials in Italian was organized by the Italian Interfaith Committee, and signed by Pastor Luca Maria Negro, president of the Federation of Protestant Churches in Italy (FCEI); by Msgr. Ambrogio Spreafico, president of the Episcopal Commission for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue of the Italian Bishops Commission (CEI) and bishop of Frosinone-Veroli-Ferentino; and by metropolitan Gennadios, orthodox archbishop of Italy and Malta and exarch for Southern Europe (ecumenical patriarchate).
