Eucharistic hospitality: In Rome Catholics and Protestants shared the supper in a Lutheran worship

A group of Catholics belonging to the St. Paul outside-the-walls Community participated to the ecumenical worship of the Reformation anniversary and to the Holy Supper service at the Lutheran church of Rome. Meanwhile the ecumenical group “Break the bread” continues the collection of the questionnaires about the “Eucharistic hospitality”

Rome (NEV), November 11, 2017 – On Sunday October 29th, a group of the St. Paul outside-the-walls Community took part, at the Lutheran Church of via Sicilia in Rome, in the ecumenical worship of the Reformation Anniversary, during which the “Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification” (Augsburg, October 31, 1999), was remembered.

On November 5th, a delegation of the catholic grassroots community went back to fully participate in the Holy Supper service. It is not the first time that Christian from different confessions practice the “Eucharistic hospitality”, as for example happened in the past between the St. Paul Community and the Waldensian Church.

The Turin ecumenical group “Break the bread”, born in 2011, is continuing the collection of the questionnaires, spread at national level, on the “Eucharistic hospitality”. Aim of the initiative is to build a network to share information and experiences on the subject.
