Methodists. Which is the side to undertake

Rome (NEV), December 7, 2018 – On November 29 at the Odeion Hall of the Humanities Faculty of “La Sapienza” University of Rome, the VII Meeting of International Studies on Methodism, with the title “Methodism, social justice, rights. A glance to Europe, Africa and USA”, promoted by the Methodist Research Center in collaboration with the Department of History, Religions and Anthropology of “La Sapienza”.

Mirella Mannocchio, president of the Methodist Churches’ Work Organization (OPCEMI) explained that the aim of the meeting was, not merely an historical and academic commemoration, but rather the occasion to stimulate a common reflection specially over civil rights.

Massimo Aquilante, president of the Methodist Research Center, opened the event. In his introduction he underlined the clear responsibility of churches today, called to take side with courage in favour of the new and urgent challenges in front of them: safeguard of creation, sustainable development, migrations.
