Bioethics, democracy, human rights. Three Italians for the KEK 2023 Strategy

The thematic groups of the Conference of European Churches are working on pluralism and education for democracy, diversity, economic and ecological justice, sustainable future, science, bioethics, technology, education and defense of human rights, social justice, ecclesiology and mission

Rome (NEV), December 21, 2019 – The Steering Committee of the Conference of European Churches (KEK) has appointed the six thematic groups to develop the KEK Strategy 2019-2023.
There are three Italians present: Luca Savarino, representing the Waldensian, Methodist, Baptist and Lutheran churches belonging to the Federation of Protestant Churches in Italy (FCEI), in the group on science, new technologies and Christian ethics; Claudio Paravati, representing the Works of the Methodist Evangelical Churches in Italy (OPCEMI), in the group on education, democracy and diversity; Angelita Tomaselli, representing the European Youth Ecumenical Council (EYCE), in the group on human rights. The other groups are: ecclesiology and mission; economic and ecological justice and sustainable future; social justice and work.

KEK is chaired by Pastor Christian Krieger, while the new General Secretary Jørgen Skov Sørensen, appointed on November 21, will take up the position in January 2020.
