The <em>Astral<\/em>, which was ten miles away, reached and rescued those whose lives were in danger, bringing them safely aboard.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">Contamos con pocos medios, pero tendr\u00e1n todos los cuidados. Hoy este equipo de voluntarios <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Astral?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Astral<\/a> acoge a 105 n\u00e1ufragos que se han jugado la vida huyendo del m\u00e1s puro infierno. <br \/>Est\u00e1n a salvo, sus vidas siguen adelante y es lo que m\u00e1s importa.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/life?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#life<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/westayinmed?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#westayinmed<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9WnNmuPO7d\">pic.twitter.com\/9WnNmuPO7d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Open Arms (@openarms_fund) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/openarms_fund\/status\/993201119907237890?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 6, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Those rescued were of different nationalities including Bangladeshis, Egyptians, Eritreans, Ghanaians, Libyans, Moroccans, Nigerians, Pakistanis and Sudanese.\u00a0 Proactiva\u2019s 43<sup>rd<\/sup> mission, which was also supported by the Federation of Protestant Churches in Italy (FCEI), saw 204 lives saved by the NGO\u2019s <em>Open Arms<\/em> tugboat.<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The FCEI, through its Refugee and Migrant Programme <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nev.it\/nev\/category\/mediterranean-hope\/\">Mediterranean Hope<\/a> (MH), is participating in this mission with one of its own operatives working aboard as the ship\u2019s cook. \u201cRescues in the Mediterranean are continuing,\u201d \u2013 declared FCEI president, pastor <strong>Luca Maria Negro<\/strong> \u2013 \u201cAs we thank those who undertake sea rescue today, let us once again affirm that saving lives and standing in solidarity with those who flee war and misery cannot be a crime.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Also aboard the <em>Astral<\/em> with captain <strong>Riccardo Gatti<\/strong> and crew is Italian Radicals MP <strong>Riccardo Magi<\/strong>, who says in a tweet: \u201cAfter some tense<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_14426\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14426\" style=\"width: 224px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-14426 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nev.it\/nev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Piobbichi_Astral-224x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nev.it\/nev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Piobbichi_Astral-224x300.jpg 224w, https:\/\/www.nev.it\/nev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Piobbichi_Astral.jpg 279w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-14426\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u201cAstral welcomes and saves people from a border which kills and encloses.
