Rome (NEV), March 6, 2021 – World Day of Prayer (WDP) 2021 took place on March 5. The Italian initiative takes place on Sunday March 7. It is a consolidated ecumenical initiative, organized by women and aimed at all communities. The liturgical material for this year was prepared by the Christian women of Vanuatu, a tropical archipelago of eighty islands located in the South Pacific. The title chosen for this year is: “Build on solid foundations” (Matthew 7, 24-27). Due to the pandemic, for the second consecutive year, most of the face-to-face initiatives have been reduced or canceled. For this reason, the ecumenical committee of WDP Italy and WDP of the Italian Switzerland proposed an online event to take place on Zoom and on the Confronti magazine Facebook page on Sunday March 7 at 3 pm. The committee coordinates the involvement of Lutheran, Baptist, Methodist and Waldensian churches and ecumenical groups and grassroots communities from different cities.
